Each year group (Y1-Y6) studies three units from the Twinkl PlanIt scheme of work, mastering skills in drawing, painting and sculpting, as well as learning to use collage, textiles and printing to express themselves in a range of mediums and styles (see Art Curriculum Road Map). Reception learn about the primary and secondary colours and the use of shape in art before going on to study two units from the Twinkl PlanIt scheme.

Pupils develop their understanding of colour and technique as well as learning about an increasingly wide range of artists, designers and architects whose work they use to inspire their own.
