Friends of Holy Family (PTA)

Holy Family has always been blessed with an active and supportive parent community. This year, we have decided to formalise that support by relaunching our PTA.

The Friends of Holy Family is a dedicated group of parents, committed to supporting Holy Family School through fundraising, volunteer efforts, and community-building activities. Our mission is to enhance the educational experience of pupils at Holy Family by providing resources, organising events, and fostering a strong, faith-filled school community. Whether through organising school events such as our Christmas Zumba event and the return of the school disco, supporting classroom needs, or strengthening parent-school connections, we strive to make a positive impact on every pupil's journey. We also actively support the school's already successful events, such as the Summer Fair, helping to enhance and grow these much-loved traditions. Join us in making a difference!

Meet the committee:

Chairperson - Kasia Walsh

I am a parent of 3 children - Year One, Year Four and Year Seven (previously at Holy Family too).

My hobbies are music, dance, books & travelling.

I am delighted to be part of the Friends of Holy Family . I believe this is the perfect place to put parents' energy, ideas and effort to build an even better place for our children.

I hope together we will create an even stronger school community to support with fundraising for our school.

Vice-Chairperson - Mary-Pep Asamah

As a parent, I have belonged to the school community for about a year and a half.

My favourite hobbies are sewing, reading and swimming, all when I get a chance 😊.

As a recent immigrant, I wanted to get involved with the school to serve as a relatable role model for ethnically diverse pupils and to show other migrants that we can all contribute to society in meaningful ways. Our children need to see role models not just at home but also in the community, demonstrating how to integrate and actively support the school’s development. Additionally, I aim to assist teachers and staff who work tirelessly to shape our children's success by offering my skills, resources, and time to support their efforts.

I also hope to encourage more parent participation through interaction and networking, fostering an inclusive school community. Active involvement can help raise funds for essential resources while promoting diversity, inclusion, peace, and tolerance. By engaging parents, we can inspire children to carry the values of Holy Family Catholic Primary School beyond their years there, positively impacting society. I envision a welcoming and inclusive Friends group where all parents, guardians, and community members feel empowered to contribute, ensuring that every child has the tools and opportunities to thrive.

Secretary - Joanna Zielinska

This is my 6th year with Holy Family School.

In my free time I like reading books but my true passion is travelling. Due to the fact my daughter's passion is cheerleading, I became a Cheer Mom who supports her at every show and competition across the country. Thanks to this we can combine our passions.

I decided to join the Friends of Holy Family because I hope we can help strengthen the school community. I believe that I can use my many years of experience as an Operations Manager in the position of Secretary. I think we can become a huge marketing tool for the school, a way to further enhance its reputation and increase family engagement. We can assist the school in communicating effectively with families, increasing fundraising efforts and applying for grants and awards that will support school initiatives.

Treasurer - Sophie Gaetani

Hi everyone, my name is Sophie and I am the Treasurer of the PTA. I have been a parent at Holy Family for a few years - I have daughters in Reception and in Year Three and I attended the school myself in the late 90s.

In my spare time I love to bake and spend time with family and friends.

I have joined the PTA as I would like to help raise money for the school and plan events for our children to enjoy. I am excited that the School Disco is back as this was something I enjoyed as a pupil and I can't wait to be involved in planning more exciting events in the future.
