Governors

Our School Governing Body

Governors are a voluntary body of people who guide and support the strategic direction of the school. They are members of the school team and their contribution to the running of the school is highly valued.

School Governing Body

Our full governing body (FGB) consists of:

  • 2 parent governors
  • 1 local authority governor
  • 1 staff governor
  • 4 foundation governors (3 vacancies)

The role of the governing body is a strategic one. Its key functions are:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  • Holding senior leaders to account for the performance of the school;
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

Each governor has specific areas where they are the 'link governor' and help to hold the school to account for. You can see which areas each governor is responsible for on our 'Who are we?' page.
