CAFOD National Assembly
On Thursday 7th September, the whole school watched the first CAFOD National Assembly of this academic year. The national assembly this term was all about how people around the world deal with the effects of the climate crisis every day. In this assembly, we met Ochuroi and his family in Kenya to find out more.
This particular assembly was incredibly special to us as a school, as members of our Chaplaincy Team filmed it at the end of last term, so they are the children especially chosen to present this assembly. The children did such an incredible job and persevered when asked to say the same line repeatedly to get it just right! We are very proud of them, and of our school, as this was such a great opportunity for us.
Please watch this at home to hear about the work that CAFOD do and how Holy Family showed their support. The link to this assembly is: https://youtu.be/jmuZrtYSAKM
Well done to the Chaplaincy Team!
Since the launch of this presentation we have received messages of thanks:
Patrick from CAFOD:
"Many many thanks again for yours and the children’s help with the assembly – it’s been looking really good today, response has been great! We had around 50 live views and are already over 300 since the premiere."
It is now 471 views!
Headteacher from another primary school:
Dear Holy Family pupils and staff,
Just a line to say thank you for the amazing assembly you prepared and shared this morning.
Pupils and staff here in Guernsey thoroughly enjoyed your efforts. We waved to you on screen and enjoyed praying with you.
Headteacher from a secondary school:
I just wanted to congratulate you and your school on their appearance in the CAFOD National Assembly. The children were an absolute credit to you.
These have been amazing to receive and know that others feel as proud as we do of our children!
