Celebration of the Word - Healthy Me!
Celebration of the Word - Jigsaw Puzzle 4 – Healthy Me
In PSHE this term, we are learning about making healthy choices. The Chaplaincy Team led us in a reflection about what we need to stay healthy: exercise, a balanced diet, rest, sleep, time outside. They reminded us that our spiritual and mental health needs looking after too. Our social life, friends and family, relaxation and doing things we enjoy are equally important for our health.
Being healthy is reflected in the Bible too, through the stories of when Jesus called the first disciples; the Last Supper; and Zacchaeus. These show us how important friends are to keep us happy and healthy in mind. Jesus needed his friends as well as them needing him. The friendship that Jesus showed Zacchaeus changed his life.
Dear Jesus,
Help us to recognise how important our friends are for us to have a healthy life; to see how happy they make us feel and how joyful time spent with them is. Please help us to be the best we can be for our friends.
May we recognise the importance of keeping ourselves healthy in mind as well as in body and, for that, we ask that you bless us with your love and forgiveness every day.
Thank you for sharing your body and blood for us so that we may be filled with you and are nourished by you to give us your energy to go out to help others.
Thank you for sending your Son to show us how to live a true and fruitful life through following your ways and seeking to serve others as best we can at all times.
Please help us to always recognise when you are walking alongside us, helping us to make sense of the world and make the right choices so that we can live a full and happy life and help others to do the same.
Amen
