On Friday 29^th September at 2.30pm, Holy Family Chaplaincy team held a coffee and cake afternoon in our school hall, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

We invited parents, grandparents and parishioners from Holy Family Church to come and join us for the afternoon to enjoy a drink and some cake, and we asked that they donated towards this worthwhile cause. 

In addition to the coffee afternoon, we asked that the children came into school in non-uniform and for them each to bring in a cake. All the cakes that were donated were then sold at the end of the day in the playground, to the children and their families, to raise even more money for this amazing charity. We had so much cake donated, we had to have two cake sales!

The money we raised from this event will support Macmillan’s vital work. It will help them fund their amazing Macmillan nurses, answer calls on their Support Line, give financial support to those in need and so much more.

The final total that we sent to Macmillan from our coffee afternoon and cake sales was a remarkable £588.69!

This is such an amazing total and we are incredibly pleased to be able to send this on behalf of Holy Family School community, so a HUGE thank you to all of you who supported us in anyway.
