Celebration of the Word - Celebrating Difference
We can all find something we share in common with someone else but there are many ways in which we are different too. There is no one else in the WORLD that has the same lines on their fingertips as you. That makes you unique. Unique means one of a kind. Isn’t it brilliant that we are all different?
This is reflected in the Bible too. ‘Love one another as I have loved you’ – God made each of us and we are all special. We reflected on how we and others are completely unique and how special that is. We were reminded of how we looked at this in the Dignity of the Human Person, as part of Catholic Social Teaching last term, too.
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for making each of us special, precious and different.
Help me to understand that you love me just as I am
And help me to love others just as they are.
Thank you for showing us how to treat each other
With kindness and respect.
Help us to value those who live near and far away
And welcome all into our lives.
Amen
