Ash Wednesday
Today we went to Holy Family Church to celebrate Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. It occurs forty days before Easter not counting Sundays. We learned that the priest burns last years palm crosses to make ash. The ashes are then used to make a sign of the cross on the forehead.
We wore the sign of the cross on our foreheads for the rest of the day as a sign that we will make a change to be better people.
