This week was Cultural Awareness Week - an opportunity to celebrate the variety of different cultures represented within our class and learn a little about the traditions, foods, stories, songs and languages special to people from different cultures around our World.

We heard a story from Ireland, a rhyme from Poland and learned some simple Polish phrases. We watched a well-known animated fairy tale told in Polish and English. We tasted cakes and biscuits from Ireland, Poland and Hungary.

We learned about All Saints Day and All Souls Day and looked at how these important festivals are celebrated in Poland. We also decorated our class reflection table, ready for All Saints Day, by making colourful tealight holders and talking about people and pets we would like to remember on the 1st November.
