In our triads, we were each given a ‘planet’ and a scale distance from the sun and we then had to map out the relative distances of the planets from the sun, on the playground. We were amazed at how close the earth is to the sun and just how far a planet like Pluto is away from the sun.  We were able to conclude that the optimum distance from the sun for life to flourish, is only a small bandwidth and we are lucky to be in it.
